Auchentoshan American oak

image
Another offering from Auchentoshan, American oak is matured solely in first fill bourbon casks, bottled at 40% (shame it’s not a little stronger) ..

Nose…lots of vanillas in here, zesty just like a typical toshan, coconut, maple syrup on toasted waffles… A little whiff of spice too,

Taste … Sweet vanilla, a lovely zesty flavour in the form of orange and lemon peel, toffee apples, worthers original sweets, coconut and that toshan nutty flavour.

Finish…It has a medium finish, spicy, a little oak but ends nice n sweet…

Another good offering from the Auchentoshan distillery, given the first fill bourbon casks it’s not overly sweet, but really would benefit from a few more % in strength…

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative
and engaging, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
