This is the last in a series of bottle your own offerings from Tomatin distillery. This offering is a 13 yo matured in American oak for 10 years then finished off in a pedro ximenez sherry cask.. Distilled 18-1-02 and re-gauged 10-1-12 into the px cask. It has a lovely dark copper tinge, bottled at 55.8% on the 25-9-15..
Nose.. A really rich inviting nose full of dark secrets, a real array of dried fruits, juicy plums, honey glazed oranges, candy apples, dark chocolate, and some spicy notes in the form of ginger.
Palate.. A real rich mouth feel with explosions of rich plums covered in a dark chocolate fondant, oranges and fresh honey, lots of toffee, coffee notes with a real delicate hint of pepper..
Finish.. Luscious.. Long.. And full of quality.
Thoughts.. Once again I am extremely pleased to have tried this whisky from Tomatin. A delightfull expression, fresh and vibrant, full of bold notes, a whidky that has depth.. A must try whisky from a must have distillery..
