Another offering from the Glen Moray stable. This is the peated offering, bottled at 40%abv.
Nose.. Instantly peaty, not overwhelming but quite soft, sweet notes in the form of vanilla and toffee along with some fresh fruits and a real subtle floral note.
Palate.. The dominant flavours are peat and smoke, it is not a massive hit but more like gentle waves, once the smokey taste is dispelled you get a gentle sweetness, butterscotch and vanilla with a ginger twist..
Finish.. A medium finish full of smokey tones.
Thoughts.. The gentleness of the peat and smoke make this dram enjoyable, it is not a full on Islay type but rather more subtle. This should appeal to those who don’t want to battle with the big tastes of Islay but still want a bit of smoke and peat.
