Known as the world’s toughest row, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge – a 3000 mile race across the Atlantic Ocean – is not for the faint-hearted. In an incredible show of skill and stamina, GB team the Four Oarsmen smashed the world record for the fastest four-man Atlantic crossing at this year’s race.
In one of the most gruelling and dramatic races ever seen, the team completed the epic challenge in 29 days, 14 hours and 34 minutes, beating the current world record by two days and race record by five days. The Four Oarsmen saw off 20 teams from 13 countries to be first over the finish line in Antigua.
Just like our founders’ epic row to Skye to establish the Talisker distillery – a building that has endured gales, storms, a fire and time and tide for almost 200 years – the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge represents adventure, strength of character, and showcases what it means to be made by the sea. We raise a dram to all who took part in this epic challenge!
