They have only gone and done it again.. Another secret distillery from Speyside that looks and smells like a real sherry bomb..
That Boutiquey Whisky Company for those that don’t know are independent bottlers who have just turned 6 years old and release some stunning single cask as well as small batch single malts, blends and grain whiskies from around the world..
Each distillery / blend release has an individual and unique artistic label designed by talented artist Emily Chappell, each label tells a story and gives a hint as to what might be inside, some are very easy to translate and others are baffling but that’s all part of the fun.
With 127 different labels to date ( fastly increasing !!) the company is fast becoming one of the most recognised companies for releasing quality independently bottled whiskies in today’s market..
This 28 yo single cask from a secret distillery in Speyside is one of only 111 bottles available and is potentially from one of Speysides finest distilleries.
That Boutiquey Whisky Company has bottled this 28yo secret distillery #1 at 50% abv, boasting a wonderful mahogany colour this is already screaming to me..
Nose.. Dates, raisins and plum mingle with glacier cherries, dark chocolate and orange peel. Subtle coffee notes rise on the back of sugared almonds, marzipan liquorice and tobacco leaf..
Palate.. This is a rich and decadent flavour with chocolate and spices leading into those dried fruits, vanilla and gentle notes of candied orange, marzipan, cherries and cinnamon buns..
Finish.. Oak and a spicy sweetness to the very end..
Thoughts.. Damn I like this.. it so reminds me of a Glenfarclas, big strong sherry notes with a real quality flavoursome palate..
There isn’t many bottles of this around so if you like a big sherried whiskywith plenty of complexity and depth of flavour then get your hands on one of these before it’s too late..
Secret distillery #1 28 yo batch 7 from That Boutiquey Whisky Company..
